The Cincom Manufacturing Business Suite for Microsoft Dynamics AX will be demonstrated during Microsoft® Convergence in Atlanta, GA.

CINCINNATI, OH — March 16, 2015 — Cincom, the Microsoft Dynamics Global Strategic Partner for Manufacturing, will be today showcasing its latest advanced manufacturing capabilities on Microsoft Dynamics AX at Microsoft Convergence.

“Microsoft Dynamics AX is an extremely robust ERP solution for manufacturers,” said Dave Schwarber, Managing Director, Cincom’s Manufacturing Business Solutions. “But manufacturers of complex equipment and systems have requirements that go beyond those of companies that produce more standard, lower-cost products.”

Cincom specializes in delivering capabilities that enhance Microsoft Dynamics AX to meet the unique needs of “complex manufacturers” in industries such as industrial equipment and machinery, high-tech and medical equipment, transportation equipment and aerospace/defense.

“The companies we serve often engineer the products they produce to exact customer specifications,” explained Schwarber. “That means they need to estimate the time and cost required to design, produce, deliver and install that product as part of the sales process. Often they need to manage delivery of the solution as a project that involves engineering, manufacturing and field services. A tremendous amount of product data is needed, with many engineering changes along the way. It’s a challenging business model, but one for which Cincom provides solutions that enable these companies to thrive—even against strong global competitors.”

At Convergence, Cincom will be demonstrating several key applications that have been built directly into the fabric of Microsoft Dynamics AX to meet these important needs:

  • Estimating –Enhancements to core Microsoft Dynamics that provide the tools to develop highly detailed product and service cost estimates based on product, process and costing information held throughout Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • Project Supply Chain –Enhancements to core Microsoft Dynamics that provide the ability to plan, manage and view production and procurement activity by project; collect and report actual costs by project; and specify quality standards, approved suppliers and other product specifications by project. This forms the foundation of visibility and control needed to support both commercial and government contracts for delivery of manufactured products.
  • Product Data Management – Enhancements to Microsoft Dynamics that provide extended information and change control for every aspect of a manufacturer’s product information, including bills of material, routes and documents. Separate engineering and manufacturing bill of material (BOM) types; product lifecycle phases; and extensive release, revision and engineering change controls support new product introduction and product change across the entire organization.
