Simplifying Client-Server PC Access to PDM Data
SUPRA PDM Windows Client allows quick and easy access to SUPRA PDM data for Windows applications. You can create new applications and migrate them to the PC, as well as write graphical user interface tools and utilities for PCs — all without heavy investments in training and new middleware.
PDM Windows Client provides the following:
- Support for 32-bit Windows platforms
- Support for Unix SUPRA, OpenVMS SUPRA or IBM z/OS SUPRA
- Supports all DML currently supported by Unix, OpenVMS and IBM MVS SUPRA DATBAS interfaces and is compatible with all current DML formats
- Support for TCP/ IP communications under Unix, OpenVMS and z/OS/ESA
- Support for COBOL, C, C++, Visual Basic or Java
PDM Windows Client communicates with OpenVMS and Unix servers using the TCP/IP server that the vendor provides. The PDM Windows Client for z/OS requires Transaction Server TCP/IP to communicate with the server PDM.
Free SUPRA PDM Windows Utilities
Included with the PDM Windows Client product is a free, full-function copy of two SUPRA PDM Windows utilities (the Linkpath Editor (LKxxEDIT) and the SUPRA PDM Database Monitor). The LKxxEDIT utility allows you to both display and update linkpath chains, in order to correct ICHN errors, and can be an invaluable tool for most DBAs. The PDM Database Monitor is another very useful DBA tool enabling you to monitor your SUPRA PDM database resources. Both utilities illustrate the power of the PDM Windows Client.
