Supporting Our Community

Cincom's foundation rests on the entrepreneurial spirit of its CEO Tom Nies. This same type of spirit has fueled and empowered many companies. Therefore, in order to "give forward" to the communities from which it operates, Cincom created the Cincom: Encouraging Entrepreneurship (CEE) Program.

Through the CEE initiative, Cincom joins forces with educational institutions and other non-profit organizations to support and encourage entrepreneurial activity throughout the world by donating software, services and resources to assist aspiring entrepreneurs, as well as providing mentoring and interning opportunities. Some of these programs are as follows:

  • The University Grant Program donates Cincom software to universities for educational study and real-world modeling. Recipients include Northern Kentucky University and the Ohio University College of Business.
  • Sponsorship of University MBA Plan Competitions where teams of master of business administration students from universities throughout the United States compete to win cash prizes.
  • Sponsorship of a "Center for the Study of the Presidency" Fellowship. The University of Cincinnati Fellowship is named for Cincom and Cincom CEO Tom Nies. The Center brings together experts from government, academia and the corporate world on key issues facing the Presidency.

Always Looking for an Opportunity to Help Indian Society

We all have a personal responsibility toward each other and the world around us. Everything we do has an effect on other people. It is the same for businesses, large or small, public or private, whose actions affect society at large.

Cincom India believes in helping society and, with this aim in mind, undertakes a wide range of activities. One example is the iMAD (I Made a Difference) program. In addition, we have joined hands with two Non-Government Organizations (NGOs): Society for Rural, Urban and Tribal Initiative (SRUTI) and Literacy India.

iMAD (I Made a Difference)

Taking the lead to start serious Cincom philanthropy and make a difference to the community, this program focuses on encouraging and empowering each and every staff member to work toward the betterment of our society. We truly believe in the power of one and we hope that each member of our Cincom family will provide his/her support, which will eventually lead them to think "I Made a Difference."

Under this program, all Cincom India employees are encouraged to contribute in their own ways (time, knowledge, etc.) toward enriching the lives of the less-fortunate members of our society. Taking due care of our environment and strong ethical practices form the bases of the program. The entire program is supported by the company and will initiate with a first step toward working for the betterment of the less/unprivileged children of the society.

Under this program, Cincom, besides providing the necessary resources for the less/unprivileged children, will also start the “Cincom Computer Buddy” program that will link one employee volunteer to train and be available to guide a child as a mentor. It will also associate itself with certain government schools and NGOs in this endeavor. At Cincom we all, equally and jointly, will try to make a difference toward our society in whatever way(s) we can.

Society for Rural, Urban and Tribal Initiative

SRUTI works toward the betterment of unprivileged children. As a regular practice, SRUTI runs a program of “Trash into Cash” for generating funds. Cincom India employees give all trash like scrap, old newspapers and cardboard boxes to them and the NGO sells the above in open market and uses the funds for the training and education of unprivileged children. Cincom India had donated 46 desktops for their initiative of opening Computer Training Institutes in Tribal areas. Over the last two years, the profit of the Diwali Fair that Cincom India organizes has been donated to SRUTI.

Literacy India

Literacy India works for the betterment of unprivileged children and has a big setup for training and education. Recently, Cincom India joined hands with Literacy India for the same cause. To start with, Cincom India has given a small advertisement in Literacy India’s yearly souvenir.

As was done in 2009, Cincom India will again run the "Be a Santa" campaign in 2010, in which all the employees of Cincom India will donate old clothes, games and toys to be distributed to unprivileged children on Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Cincom India is always looking for the opportunity to help the society, and in the future, will also run the programs toward the betterment of unprivileged children.
