Release 2.4.00 for OpenVMS
SUPRA Server PDM Release 2.4.00 is available for the OpenVMS operating system. Under OpenVMS, SUPRA Server PDM runs as a multithreaded, detached process. Multithreading allows numerous applications to use the PDM at the same time and leads to the most efficient use of system resources. Running the PDM as a detached process results in smaller application programs thereby saving on disk space and memory.
SUPRA Server PDM maintains data and coordinates database access, processes requests from tools and precompiled programs, and provides backup and recovery tools. It also provides a great deal of control over data storage options and is designed for high-volume, online transaction processing. See the SUPRA Server PDM Release 2.4.00 Data Sheet (PDF) for more detailed information about SUPRA Server PDM and the 2.4.00 Release.
Some of the major benefits of SUPRA Server PDM for OpenVMS include:
- Multiple file-type support
- Active schema (database) maintainability
- Storage optimisation
- Recoverability
- Multiple ways to access data
