transactional unit of work, causing the cached copies to be
current with the transactional data.
Cincom TIGER's Data
Cache offloads processing from operational systems by
replicating data -- especially important for
mainframes. The data source or its subset (the master) is
copied into Cincom TIGER (the replicate). Unlike
the snapshot techniques used in a data warehouse
environment, Cincom TIGER's Data Cache monitors changes
being made to the master and stores them in a journal. You
decide how often the journal is written to the replicate,
keeping master and replicate closely synchronised according
to your business requirements. Cincom TIGER's Data Cache
Real-Time uses the same change-monitoring techniques, but it
incorporates the cache update into the transactional unit of
work, causing the cached copies to be current with the
transactional data. You can run analytics against the copy
in Cincom TIGER for real-time answers, while keeping other
