Production Planning

Cincom Priority Production Planning supports either traditional Material Requirement Planning (MRP) or Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) through the following:

  • MRP
  • APS
  • Reorder point
  • Forward and backward scheduling
  • "What-if" simulation
APS allows user-defined priorities to be allocated to customer orders. Scheduling techniques include forward scheduling followed by backward scheduling to ensure components are not planned until actually needed.

Priority's sequencing algorithms take into account set-up optimisation, dynamic job sequencing, overlapping operations, and lot-size optimisation. The system plans material, capacity, and tooling requirements in a single synchronised process, including the flexibility to assign finite or infinite capacity to each work centre. Potential bottlenecks are identified and the most effective alternate methods are utilised.

To aid decision support and facilitate order promising, Priority provides planning simulations to evaluate "what-if" scenarios.

The end result - a workable production plan.
